Why, where, when, how, thinking of the worst may actually be helpful?

It may seem a shocker as to why is this guy who is supposed to be inspiring and motivating us to live to our highest potential speaking about worrying and focusing on the worst. However, that is the purpose. In this post, I am going to discuss about one bottle-neck of growth which can actually accelerate your growth to an extreme level in a manner which many are unaware about.

If you are hurried, then all I will ask you is to later Google and research about the topic ‘amygdala hijacking’. For others, I will share my own perspective and information.

I had a Prof, in my medical college who used to say, ‘prepare for the worst, for if you are, you can face everything.’
True to his words, when we mentally run through what worst can happen in our mind, even before the event actually happens, then we are better prepared with all measures both remedial and preventive. Rather, if we choose to take it all in a positive way, and just be hoping for the best, then when the worse situations strike, we are left off-balance and many a times end up doing something stupid and foolish. And this is a intrinsic way as to how our brain and mind works.

When we have already run through in our mind regards the worst, our subconscious already knows what to do next and in an automatic mode kicks off that procedure for which we then receive appreciation and acknowledgement for being so prepared and taking the tough things head on.
This is how and why armed forces run through their drills. They don’t wait for the worst to happen, for when they happen, they hardly have any time to prepare, or anything. They just have to act, and when they have already had a trial run through, they have a plan in place just to be executed already.

And in today’s world it is not just them, however, all of us who have to be prepared to face the uncertainties that everyday life brings forth towards us.
