OK, so I am going to share a big secret of how change is really brought and how you can make it happen. One person whom I know explains the same better than me is Igor Ledochowski. So, you can check out his version too.
Whenever comes a moment where I have to change, I always have a little bit of chatter happening within myself, and a few discussion with people whom I know and whose opinion and perspectives I care for, then I just think it through, both pros and cons. Finally, I just think it through, maybe visualize for some time or feel well for some time within me and then just let it go and focus on other work.
For those who are near, including me, sometimes ask, where is the change, where is the change, where is the change? Well, the change, if for good, has the following characteristics.
- It happens from within more than from without. That means it is going to take time to develop deep roots and I can’t just waste my time being idle and rather focus on what next. When the roots are well set, the shoots appear for sure.
- Any change is first noticed more by others than by self. And it is because we don’t acknowledge minor changes and any major change is a series of minor changes. So, we might as well have not noticed it. However, others are going to see it, feel it, and notify us about it. So, it is the work of others to watch out and notify you about your changes, and its not you. So, better leave it to them.
And finally when the roots are well set, the change is obvious to others, the change is also for us to live with, be persistent with and that is how change happens. This is the mechanism of change for long-term which is there to stay rather than be a temporary shift.
