How are illnesses caused? How does one become ill or gets a disease?

You may become sick. You may get a disease and ill. However, do you know how you become sick? The following are the different methods by which you or any other person commonly becomes sick.Infection.
Infection. When you are exposed to an infective agent like a microbe, (bacteria, virus, etc), or chemical exposure, you get infected and you get illness.
Injury. When you meet with an accident or external reason, resulting injury, you can become sick. It can also happen due to external factors like dust, etc, and also internal injury which results in damage to tissue. These injuries result in illnesses.
Iatrogenic. Sometimes, people get sick as a result of side-effects of treatment and/or hospital acquired illness. These illnesses are known as iatrogenic diseases.
Immunologic. When your immunity becomes deranged or disturbed and thus result in illness, with the cause being due to defective immunity.
Idiopathic. Sometimes, you may become ill and the cause cannot be attributed to any known factor. Why you have become sick, the cause may be unknown and these conditions are known as idiopathic diseases.
Environmental. From my personal experience and also of other health care professionals, the environment we live in can cause a lot of illnesses especially due to causes like air pollution, water pollution, etc.
Psychological. Psycho-somatic illnesses are the most commonly found illnesses today. Majority of illnesses today are due to psychological causes.
Nutritional. One of the common causes for illness can be due to the food you eat. Especially the junk food and the fast food and lack of nutrition rich food.Malnutrition is commonly seen in majority of people.
Diathesis. People may have tendency to become ill. You may have a tendency to get ill frequently and easily; like catching cold easily, bleeding even for small injury, etc.
So, the above are the common causes by which you can become ill.
How can you use the above information?
By knowing how you tend to become ill, especially from the above causes, you can take steps to prevent illnesses and improve your overall health. Prevention is always better than cure.
The whole concept of being healthier and happier and enjoying wellness is about nurturing and developing health from the first place and preventing illness from the first instance.
