Basic principles of counseling:

1. There should be an interpersonal relationship.
A strong and open interpersonal relationship should be present between the counsellor or therapist and the counselled or the client.
2. The relationship should focus and emphasize on a process of facilitating change from and ineffective to effective quality of life of the client.
3. It is a process which the client or the counseled should undergo voluntarily. The counsellor can only offer support to guide through the process, not force the process upon the client.
4. Counselling as a process can use various techniques which includes but not limited to;
a. Learning and unlearning methodologies. In this technique new, effective and appropriate learning are accepted and old, ineffective and inappropriate learning are let go of, or released by the client.
b. Motivation techniques. Change as a process especially from ineffectiveness to effectiveness is highly influenced by the amount of motivation received by the counselled or the client from others, especially the counsellor.
c. Other resources. Being a process of change, it might take some time to be fully and effectively made part of the life of the client and for this other resources and techniques can be used.

How does counselling benefit?

Counselling is a conscious method of problem management which are of milder nature and mostly attributed to various situations that happens around in the life of the client. As a method of problem management, it can be used both as a preventive and curative technique.
It can also be used as a technique of empowerment of the individual for a better quality of life in various related areas.
Counselling also serves as an effective method for self development for enriched and empowered life through personal and skill development.

Who should take counselling?

Counselling can be taken by those who are willing to become more effective and have a better quality of life than they are in their life now.

Be Healthier and Happier. Become Empowered and Enriched.
